Kelp and Ice
Two seasonal explorations; one in summer studying the forms and patterns of kelp and seaweed at low tide, the other in winter examining the structures of ice formations. A synergy of the two, as an ebbing tide leaves frozen sea water upon the kelp.

Clairemont Facades
An early personal project exploring the community of Clairemont, San Diego's first post war subdivision. Not unlike many other track developments being built at the time through out the country; what i find interesting is that it was the first step towards the rampant suburban development of the San Diego area ( in which I was born and raised ) that has lasted for well over 60 years and continues to this day.

Tide Mill Farm
Commission from Maine Magazine for an article on Tide Mills Farms. A nine generation dairy farm outside of Machias Maine. Three current generations live on the land; raising families, tending dairy cattle and poultry. All the while making due with the hardscrabble existence that is living in downeast Maine.
